Johann Heinrich Schilbach (* 1798 in Barchfeld; † May 9, 1851 in Darmstadt) was a German landscape painter. Schilbach was in Darmstadt disciple of the theater painter Johann Georg Primavesi. A Hessian-grand-ducal scholarship enabled him to visit Italy. In 1823 he emigrated with the Heidelberg painters Ernst Fries to Rome, where he met Ludwig Richter. With Richter, he took walks in the Sabine mountains and traveled with him to Naples in 1825. There, the painter Schilbach, Richter, Carl Götzloff, Ludwig von Maydell, Johann Nicholas Hoff, and Hans Georg Haderer climbed together Mount Vesuvius.
