Johann Christian Klengel (born April 5, 1751 boiler village, † 19 December 1824 in Dresden) was a German painter and etcher. Klengel attended the drawing school in Dresden, in 1790 went to Italy and in 1802 professor at the Art Academy in Dresden. His final resting place he found on the Elias Cemetery in Dresden.
He painted landscapes ideal and idyllic compositions, usually in the morning or evening light. In 1812 he produced a collection of twelve folio sheets for landscape artist with the inscription: "Principes de dessins pour les paysages" out and in 1824 a similar number leaves, now known under the title: "Études de paysages"
