Joaquín Tudela y Perales (Játiva, Valencia province, 1891-1970) was a Spanish painter and belonged to the Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos and the Academy of Barcelona, considered one of the Spanish masters of landscape and portraiture.
Biography
He developed his artistic career mainly in France and Spain, especially in Valencia and Mallorca.
In the Museum of L'Almodí are permanently exposed important works of the artist, such as The faint.
In the Collegiate Church Basilica of Santa Maria de Játiva they have some paintings of Tudela, four in the pechinas of the dome that represent the four Evangelists; A table with Saint Albert the Great and a canvas with the Virgin of the Seo.
In the Museum of Leipzig they have the Picture of the Hermits and the Santo Cristo de Pollensa and the picture of the Payesa Mallorquina in the Museum of Luxembourg
In 1970 he died at age 79.
Some prizes
In 1915 he won a medal for his work "Carga Heroica" in Marseilles. In 1922 he participated in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts.
In 1923 participates in the Exhibition of Valencian Art celebrated in Madrid with the picture Source of Pollensa acquired by the Government for the Museum of Modern Art.
In 1917 paints the evangelists of the Church of the House of Spain in Majorca.
In 1927 participates in the Salon of autumn.
