Ferdinand Keller (born 5 August 1842 in Karlsruhe; died 8 July 1922 in Baden-Baden) was a German painter. He was educated at Karlsruhe. In 1857, he accompanied his father and brother to Brazil, and there sketched diligently from nature in the tropical forests until 1862, when he became a student of landscape painting under Schirmer in Karlsruhe, and of figure painting under Canon in Karlsruhe in 1863. He studied in Rome from 1863 to 1867. In 1881, he was appointed director of the Academy of Fine Arts, Karlsruhe. He ranked among the chief representatives of colorism in Germany.
