Ernst Friedrich Grünewald., born in Darmstadt on March 1, 1801 died on 26 Novbr.. 1848 engraver and poet. Represented at the gymnasium of his native city, he learned the copper engravers at Susemihl in Darmstadt and then under Professor Frommel in Karlsruhe. Here he was at the same time in spiritual Promotional intercourse with men like Robert Ludwig, Josh. v. Auffenberg and Aloys Schreiber, the containing encouraged him to seal his Cultivirung talent and publication of his first book "seals" (1827), lyrical and dramatic works.
