Edmund Wagner (06.11.1830 Nürnberg - 03.10.1859 Pantenried (Gauting)) was the son of the painter Friedrich Wagner and initially his father's student. Later he studied at the Academy of Antwerp, among others, Jacob Albert Jacobs and Eugène Joseph Verboeckhoven. In the years 1850-1854 he worked in Stuttgart as an animal painter, after which he moved to Munich. He died in 1859 of a hunting accident "As a result of the discharge of his shotgun while slipping in the forest"
