Caspar Johann Nepomuk Scheuren (born August 22, 1810 in Aachen, † June 12, 1887 in Dusseldorf) was a German painter and illustrator. After an apprenticeship in the studio of his father Johann Aegidius Peter Joseph Scheuren he schooled himself from 1829 to 1835 at the Dusseldorf Art Academy as a landscape painter. For his "romantic and fantastic art manner" study trips were important role models by Carl Friedrich Lessing and Johann Wilhelm Schirmer and the reading of Walter Scott.
Caspar Scheuren is one of the representatives of the Düsseldorf School of Painting and is considered one of the most important Rhineland painters of the 19th century .
