Zikos Rosis (1838 - 1933) was a Greek theologian university professor of the 19th century.

Biographical data

He was born in Derviziana of Lakka Souli in 1838. He completed his basic education at the Zosimaia School of Ioannina and then at the Rizareio School. He then studied theology at the Theological Seminary of the National University and the Universities of Leipzig and The Hague. He graduated from the University of Leipzig with a PhD in philosophy. He returned to Greece in 1867 and was elected lecturer of oratory at the University and after a year he received permission to teach the encyclopedia of theology. In 1875 he was appointed an honorary professor at the University, teaching at the same time at the Rizareio School, and in 1881 a full-time professor. At the same time he became honorary at the Rizareio School. In 1911 he resigned from the University due to the age limit imposed, and continued to teach in Rizareio until 1913. In 1911 he became an honorary professor and in 1922 an emeritus professor at the University. [1] He was six times dean of the Theological School of the University of Athens, during the academic years 1877-1878, 1881-1882, 1886-1887, 1890-1891, 1895-1896 and 1902-1903. [3] In 1903, he wrote The Dogmatic System of the Orthodox Catholic Church.

He died in Athens on September 17, 1933. [1]
