ART

Thyreus (Greek Θυρεύς) is one of the seven children of Althaia and Oineus in Greek mythology.

His siblings are Toxeus, Gorge, Clymenus, Meleagros, Perimede and Deianeira. [1]

The genus of the spotted bees (Thyreus) from the Apidae family is named after this mythological figure.
