Herakles (Hercules) against the Giant wrestler Antaios (Antaeus), 515-505 BC century BC, Euphronios Painter, Late Archaic Attic Red Figure Krater, Louvre Paris , Vase Catalog Number: Louvre G 103 , Image , Closer Look

Specialists in the Pammachos martial art technique say that Herakles hold Antaeus in a way "trahilismos" deadly for Antaeus.

Antaeus was the son of Gaea and Poseidon. He obtained his power from the contact with his mother Gaea (Earth). Herakles while on his way to obtain the apples of Hesperides met Antaeus in Libya. Herakles killed Antaeus by lifting the giant off the ground until he was too weak to resist.
