Patrida (Πατρίς) Imathia

Patrida in Imathia is a large lowland settlement (altitude 120m., Inhabitants 1,287). It is located 6 km north of the city of Veria. It is crossed by the Municipality of Veria - Edessa.

Since 2011, with the administrative reconstruction brought about by the "Kallikratis Program", it belongs to the Municipality of Veria. In the period 1998, with the "Kapodistrias" plan, it belonged to the Municipality of Dovra.

The founder of the village is Efstathios Chorafas, whose name is carried by the cultural association of the village. The inhabitants are mostly of Pontic origin, coming from the village of Takhtagran Kars in the Caucasus. [1]

There is a kindergarten, a kindergarten and a primary school in Patrida. There are three churches, Ag. Friday, St. Nicholas and the Assumption of Christ. Until recently, there were two football teams, the "Yellow Storm of the Homeland" and the Flying ".

The village is connected to the city of Veria daily by city bus from 7 in the morning until 9 in the evening (with a frequency of one hour per hour).
