Kekropia (Greek: Κεκροπία) is a former municipality in Aetolia-Acarnania, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Aktio-Vonitsa, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] Population 4,494 (2001). The seat of the municipality was in Palairos.

Division of the municipality


Palairos is a village 134 km NW of Messolonghi. Near Palairos are the small islands Madouri, Meganisi and Skorpio. Around Palairos are remains of a castle called Kechropoula and an ancient city which probably existed since the mycenaean period.
