Kato Kalavrouza (Κάτω Καλαβρούζα) Aitoloakarnania
Kato Kalavrouza is a semi-mountainous settlement located in Nafpaktia of the regional unit of Aitoloakarnania at an altitude of 180 meters [1]. It has a population of 66 inhabitants, according to the 2011 census and together with Kalavrouza they constitute the Local Community of Kalavrouza which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Chalkeia of the Municipality of Nafpaktia [2].
History - Geography
Until 1948 it was called Albani or formerly Albanis, so it was renamed to its current name with the Official Gazette: 40/1948 [3] [4]. It is 23 km N of Nafpaktos [5] and is located very close to the Ionian Road, between the villages of Gavrolimni and Kalavrouza. The patron saint of the village is Agios Nikolaos [6] while since 2011, in the village there is a Folklore Museum which is housed in the building of the old Primary School [7].
