Agios Nikolaos (Άγιος Νικόλαος) Katounas Aitoloakarnania

Agios Nikolaos Katounas is a settlement located at an altitude of 280 meters, in the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania [1], in the center of the triangle formed by the villages of Katouna, Aetos and Konopina. The settlement was built in 1922 by refugees from Asia Minor. According to the Kallikratis program, together with Katouna and Loutraki, they constitute the Municipal Community of Katouna, which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Medeonos of the Municipality of Aktio - Vonitsa and according to the 2011 census has a population of 81 inhabitants [2]. The population according to the 2001 census was 79 inhabitants. The Refugee Rehabilitation Committee distributed about 700 acres to the refugees and so they settled permanently. Originally this settlement was part of the Eagle. Later, however, it passed as a settlement in the Municipality of Katouna [3].
