Juan García Segura is a Spanish painter. He was born in Palma in 1956.
Biography
Segura began painting in 1968 and read biographies of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Vincent van Gogh Gauguin Dalí and Picasso. Between 1975 and 1979 he studied painting and sculpture at the School of Arts and Crafts Palma. Exercises ranging from the Art brut until Hyperrealism. In 1975 made a small painting entitled "Green March" inspired by the Moroccan invasion in Spanish Sahara, considered the first mature work of the painter and cataloged within the Neoexpresionismo that developed over the years 80.
In 1977 he presented "Denigrart Gallery" at the Museum of Mallorca. The show included a large picture of General Franco surrounded by grotesque objects, which led to strong expectations. Poetry works in the first object.
In 1978 made the first trip to Italy to attend the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze where he received a special scholarship through the table entitled "Green Rolls" hyper-book style that became part of the permanent collection of the Academy. In 1982 Segura developed an interest in Neoexpresionist Figuration emphasizing agility and color. He produced a series of works about rhinoceros, elephants and palm trees. In 1983 made the first trip to Paris where the director of L 'École des Beaux-Arts granted a special scholarship to attend the Workshop on Research Matière et Couleur directed by Master Silvestri.
